Abstract

This study sheds light on the power of imagination in poetry that produces some kinds of similes and figures of speech. Here, we are going to investigate some of these images and figures of speech in the pre Islamic poetry. More specifically, the paper studies the figures found in two masterpieces written by Imru' Al-Qais and Tarfa Bin Abid.
