Hassan Al-Basri is a great muslim scholar. He born 21 A.H./641 A.D. (i.e two years to the killing of the second caliph,namely, Omar Ibn Al-KhaTab. He brought up in Waadi Al-Qura in Yathrib in the Saudi Arabia.
The present paper deals with this personality who is regared as one of the pioneer Muslim scholars in Basra. Since this scholar has had an active role in the history of Islam, the study investigates his life and his jurist views towards jihad , policy, some events in his period.etc.
