The research aims at identifying students motives to join the specialization of librarianship and information science in Mosul. It also shows the general, academic and economical introductory features. Questionnaire was used as a mean of collecting data which was distributed to all students of librarianship department at technical institute / Mosul, and students of information and librarianship department at university of Mosul. The research came up with that the main reason behind students joining this specialization is the desire to work at the library which formed (89%). The rate of female desire was (61%), while (60%) of students had chosen this specialization by their own.
