Salt and its Uses in Mesopotamia
Abstract
The research deals with salt and its uses in Mesopotamia starting with the designation of salt and its cuneiform texts and then introducing salt Egypt and how to get it. The quality of it was rocky or cubic crystals may be colorless or may be colors including yellow, brown or blue, because it contains a quantity of impurities give it different colors. It is known that the source of salt is the sediment found in the ground that originally formed from water in the sea. The research also dealt with the use of salt through its use as one of the essential flavors in food in order to give the taste palatable or use as a preservative, especially with meat in particular, as well as used in some important industries, including tanning and formulation and in medical drugs.
