Abstract

the city of Mosul, its cultural depth and the actions of those who were present in it in the historical context require research into the details of its annals and the political authority that controls it, while the Arab Islamic conquest was a turning point and a change in the course of its history extending since the most ancient times, and this conquest was the subject of interest and controversy for those who wrote about Mosul, especially since the difference in the texts of the primary sources imposed possibilities for the time of Islamic control over the city between the year) 16 AH / 637 AD) or (18 AH / 639 AD) or even the year (20 AH / 641 AD), while this variable in opinion is met by the constant that the city was entered by Islamic forces with the help of Arab tribes after an agreement without confrontation and real fighting, the new vision of the conquest of Mosul is that the western side of the city was opened once, while the eastern side was opened more than once because of its agricultural lands, and the vision also derived its data from objective criticism of the sources and the balance with what is available from Arab Islamic sources, and Syriac sources It was interpreted to reach scientific results and textual and logical evidence. The vision was based on diligence based on proven evidence su bject tocritic. Key
