This study reviews the history and meaning of archives as well as their kinds and uses in past and present. It also tackles the methods of storing and indexing of the archives. The classification storing and retrieval of archives are tackled traditionally and currently. The study suggests exploiting the computer for storing and retrieving under the umbrella of what is called the Electronic Age.
