The Spatial Sign in Aref Al-Saadi's Poetry - A Semiotic Study
Abstract
For Al-Saadi, the place formed an artistic focal point, from which he took a sign bearing deep poetic connotations, evoking the place in all its dimensions, borders, and imaginations in a linguistic structure, drawing a beautiful artistic painting expressing his vision, motives, psychological obsessions, and realistic political, social, economic, and cultural events. His texts are loaded with signs that we will work on in this research to decode and synthesize through the "semiotic approach" and identify the secondary deep structures behind the semantic surface structures.
