he Phenomenon of the Verb Kafa : A Study in the Lexicon and its Relation to Syntax and Style
Abstract
This research addresses the verb [kafa], which is a unique phenomenon in Arabic in terms of its use lexically, syntactically and stylistically. Via its use, the researcher tracks the Arabic syntactic thinking and its developmental stages regarding this phenomenon, indicating through its way the linguists views in general and grammarians in particular, in terms of presentation, contrasting, and outweighing. Later, it is concluded to confirm the formula ( ) as a new exclamatory structure, for its steadiness and uniqueness in its style, especially in the Holly Quran. After that, the research compares it with another use of exclamation depending on the significance of the syntactic structure of what was not common to the grammarians. Thus, the research goes on until getting to a comparison between the old and the new or contemporary uses of () and laying a hand on the aspects and the development of its use, samples and examples.
